Habersham County Veterans Wall of Honor

In 2001, the Habersham County Commissioners passed a resolution and the Habersham County Wall of Honor was formed. A committee made up of veterans and patriots began working diligently to locate property to erect a park in which we could honor the veterans of Habersham County.

The late Ken Palmer was the initiator and organizer of this committee. He compiled thousdands of names of Habersham County
Veterans before his death. The Habersham County Wall of Honor is for all veterans of Habersham County. The names that are included on the black granite walls include all veterans serving during war and peacetime for all wars and conflicts from The Revolutionary War to the present.

Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson Company, graciously donated a tract of land adjoining the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce on which the Veterans Wall of Honor is built. Early in the project, approximately $20,000 was raised for developing the parcel of land so that it is useable for the park. The physical address of the Wall of Honor is 660 US-441 Business, Cornelia, GA 30531.

This website has been created so that Habersham County residents (and anyone who may have loved ones from this area) can keep up with the progress of the park development, the phases of construction, and offer service and donations when possible to help in raising the necessary funds to complete this project that is so dear to us all.
